Is Climate Crisis or Gun Control Your Biggest Worry as a Parent?
What we *really* worry about for our children's future
Hi, y’all! I’ve been thinking lately about the things that really concern those of us who have a child born 2010-2024 (aka Gen Alpha, what this newsletter is all about).
I’ve been working on some upcoming newsletters about the benefits of boys having a Barbie (or other dolls), books for preschoolers who are starting kindergarten (coming Friday!), and lots more—including some exciting interviews with people I know you’ll love hearing about.
But in the meantime, I have a question for my fellow parents who are Raising Gen Alpha: What are your biggest worries when it comes to your children’s future?
I know this is not an exciting topic. In fact, it’s… kinda depressing, if I’m honest. And as someone who’s just now getting past my depressive episode and parenting with depression, this isn’t a fun topic. But it’s important.
We all know these bigger world issues are going to impact our kids and, as I start to book experts to interview for the Raising Gen Alpha podcast and future content, I want to include more of what we’re all stressed about. Not just that, but definitely more of this. So tell me…
I asked these same two questions on my Instagram over the weekend, and I am very curious about how different answers will be here and there.
So for my second question, this one’s a bit more on the *personal* side.
That’s it! That’s all she wrote.
I really want to know your answers here so be as honest as possible, and feel free to comment or email me (details below) with anything else you want to add. Trust me, I know that this list doesn’t include a ton of other topics that we worry about… but it’s a good place to start.
So let’s start talking.
Tell me: What topics would you add to these two polls? What is your personal biggest worry? Feel free to get as detailed as you want!
Talk soon,
Irina (she/her) - raising a March 2020 gen alpha kid
Another major concern I have is about safety for LGBTQ+ alphas and the shrinking world of safe places for both queer youth and anyone with a uterus!
