Here are 14 LGBTQIA+ board books that straight families should be reading with their kids aged 0-3 years to support queer families and raise little allies.
Never shut up about this, Melonie! What a lovely story about you and your daughter's father. It's really, really important to each kindness. I love what you said, "It's simple." <3
This is a great article. I think you have some very solid suggestions and point out some things that some of us wouldn’t have thought of. I live in Florida and it is a scary place to be at this time. Love is love. ❤️
Thanks so much, Diana! I'm so glad that you found things insightful. Florida is definitely a scary place right now. When I left in 2004, it seemed fine. When I came back in early 2016, it was... a little scary. But things just seemed to get worse and worse, especially after the start of the pandemic. My husband and I—who lived in Fort Myers at the time—decided to move out of the state at the end of 2020 and made it to Colorado in April 2021. My only wish right now is that I could be there to help swing the vote back to at least a purple-ish state. Good luck to you! I hope you have a supportive community around you, at least <3
Thank you for writing this article & sharing these books! As a family with several loved ones who identify as LGBTQIA+ we need to get some of these books on our book shelf for our little one. What a great way to inspire her to have an open mind & support others. Kindness matters.
I'm SO glad you liked this post, Christina! I definitely think your family and little one will like these. We're really, really loving And Tango Makes Three right now but Frederico and All His Families and Dolls and Trucks are For Everyone were huge favorites early on as well :)
This is a beautiful article, Irena! Whenever I have children, I definitely want to introduce them to books like these, and will refer to your article for that support! Lots of love to you!
Oh gosh, Kelly, that's SO sweet! Thank you SO much. Also, love that you read Holly Whitaker's Recovering <3 I'm in recovery myself and used to work with her back at Tempest! Happy to connect with other sober folx here :)
Thanks SO much for reading, Andromeda! I'm so glad you enjoyed the post :) It's not always easy to put these together so you saying this opened your eyes really meant a lot. <3

Obsessed with how you define being bisexual and monogamous!
Haha thank you! I mean... it's true, isn't it?! :)
