SURPRISE! The Pandemic Mama Podcast is Back for Season 2
After an almost year-long break, I've brought back the podcast... Here's why.

When I first launched the Pandemic Mama podcast in September 2020, I never thought I would stop.
My son had just turned 6 months old and I just had so much that I needed to talk about with other parents as our babies grew up during this world-changing pandemic. I went on to make 27 episodes in the next six months… and then shit happened.
We moved. My son turned a year old. My work got busier. And…. ya know, life.
Actually, what really happened is that the pandeic somehow got worse. Just as things were beginning to settle for me in July and I thought that I could go back to the podcast, Delta hit. The fall was mentally really difficult for me and things only got worse as the year ended and 2022 began.
This year began without much hope as Omicron impacted the lives of pretty much every parent I know.
Then, after avoiding COVID in his previous exposures, my son got it too. And although that mostly turned out fine, I realized earlier in the year that I was experiencing situational depression — and it only got worse with this latest development.
Somehow, in all of this, I realized that Pandemic Mama the podcast needed to come back.
I’m enjoying writing this newsletter and connecting with fellow pandemic parents, but I want more. I need a deeper connection. And I know you do too.
Through my writing for other publications, I’ve been lucky enough to interview and talk with many other parents. And guess what? We are all feeling similar things. We’re all stressed, isolated, unsure of how to proceed, exhausted by the constant decision making, and still anxiously waiting for the COVID vaccine to be available for kids under 5. And through these conversations, I realized that we need to talk about all of this.
We need to process. We need to cry together. We need to talk about the trauma. And most of all, we need to share our stories.
So WELCOME to Season 2 of the Pandemic Mama podcast!
I hope you’ll listen in. And I hope you’ll keep reading — because considering how isolated we have all been feeling these past two years, sharing these stories with you (your stories!) is starting to make me fee like we’re not alone. I hope you feel a little bit of that, too.
